Landscaping The Front Yard Part 2
Mid summer pictures of the flower garden in the front yard.
LANDSCAPING THE FRONT YARD
THE YARD NEEDS ALOT OF LOVE. I WAS RECENTLY DOWN AT MY MOMS FOR A BRANDING AND SHE DECIDED TO SHARE HER WEALTH OF PLANTS. SO SHE STARTED CUTTING HER BEAUTIFUL PLANTS IN HALF TO SHARE. SAYING ALL THE WHILE "THEY LOVE IT!" HERES HOPING SHES RIGHT AND THEY START TO FLOURISH.
GARDEN PROJECT
I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO HAVE A BIG BEAUTIFUL GARDEN BUT HAVE NEVER HAD THE TIME OR SPACE TO DO SO. NOW THAT WE LIVE HERE ON THIS BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF LAND MY HUSBAND DECIDED THAT A BIG GARDEN WAS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED TO KEEP ME HAPPY ... AND BUSY. SO WHEN I THREW THE IDEA OUT IN THE OPEN THAT I WANTED IT TO BE HUGE, HUGE IS WHAT I GOT!
THE FIRST STEP WAS TO CLEAN UP THE SPACE THAT WE AGREED WOULD BE PERFECT FOR MY GARDEN. AN OLD BARN HAD FALLEN IN AND IN THE PROCESS OF CLEANING IT UP, PILES OF BARN WOOD DEVELOPED. SO FIRST STEP SORT THE PILES. KEEPER WOOD FOR PROJECTS AND WOOD TO BURN.
AFTER WE GOT ALL THE WOOD CLEANED UP I TOOK THE SKIDSTEER AND SCRAPED THE TOP LAYER OF SOD OFF.
FOR MY BIRTHDAY MY HUSBAND TOOK THE MORNING OFF WORK TO DISK MY GARDEN PLOT. <3

THE CHRISTMAS KITCHEN
My mommas kitchen is one of the neatest places. There is nothing quite like spending time as an adult with mom in her kitchen, where I learned how to make bread and cookies, How to shape hamburgers and how to cook for a crew. So many things have passed across the kitchen table, so many life lessons. So much advice. I learned how to dance, circling around the kitchen table. Its such a ranch kitchen, southwest, farmhouse... yellows and reds. browns and tans. white and wood. In December she decorates for Christmas, it adds to the charm so much that I thought... I just cant resist sharing the home I grew up in. This kitchen is special.
If you or your mom, or grandma have an extra special kitchen I would love to see it! Send me a picture. abby.carr@outlook.com
HOME ON THE RANCH
IN JULY OF 2017 MY HUSBAND, MYLES, AND I MOVED TO THIS PLACE ON HIS FAMILY'S RANCH. THIS WAS CALLED THE REED PLACE. ONE OF THE MANY PLACES THAT REED BUILT AND LIVED. NO ONE HAD LIVED IN THE HOUSE FOR OVER 30 YEARS. THE HUNTERS COME OUT FOR A WEEK EVERY YEAR AND STAY IN THE OLD REED HOUSE. GLAMPING AS IT WAS. THERE WAS LOTS TO DO BEFORE WE COULD MOVE IN BUT NOW THAT WE ARE HERE I WOULDNT WANT TO LIVE ANYWHERE ELSE. THIS IS HOME. HOME ON THE RANCH.
